Welcome to the Queer Kidlit Mentorship Program where the children’s literature community come together to support LGBTQIA+ creators early in their careers. This program partners unpublished and not yet agented LGBTQIA+ children's literature creators who are seeking to be traditionally published with experienced mentors for a three month mentorship program. Applicants who are selected as a mentee will receive at least three rounds of feedback on their work from their mentor.

Ideal candidates are people with a well developed project who, with a bit of support from their mentors, are ready to polish their manuscript, portfolio, dummy, or script and prepare to query agents or submit to acquiring editors. We are committed to diversity and encourage LGBTQIA+ creators from all historically marginalized communities to apply.

The 2025 Queer Kidlit Mentorship program will take place from March - May 2025. Our 2025 Mentors will be posted before applications open/

The Queer Kidlit Mentorship and #Queerkidlit Twitter chat started in 2020 by Jeannette Bradley and Dani Duck. The programs paused in 2023. Meghan Wilson Duff, in addition to help from lots of other people, is helping reboot the Queer Kidlit Mentorship program for 2024.
